Friday evening, Sam Gormley headed to Scottsville to bring you coverage of the nail biting Cougar football game, as the Cougars fell to Allen County-Scottsville by three points in a last second field goal.  The Cougars stand 4 – 2 on the season; but they weren’t the only program Sam highlighted Friday evening.  Listen to the link below of Sam’s segment, “Cougars In The Classroom” with guest Matt Hayes about job signings at the technology center.  Listen below:

Sam joined the In The Know crew Friday morning to highlight to upcoming football game, and a glimpse back over the previous week in all Cougar sports.  Click the link below to listen to his full recap. Listen below:

I registered for Get Moving Grayson County, which began last Monday.  This is the second year the GC Extension Office is hosting this two month event.  As I checked in Monday morning to log my steps with the class I was blown away.  I had 27,909 steps, but some of you all are logging over 100K steps a week!  What are you all doing to log that many steps?  Goodness…I need to step-up my game here.  Talk about a reality check.

Jamie Bratcher, Wednesday Co-Host of Shop Local Leitchfield (103.9 The Moose), helped get the decorations in place and stage set for the Honeyfest Pageant, that culminated Saturday at Clarkson Elementary School.  The pageant is a fundraiser for Clarkson Fire Department, and netted the department approximately $3,000.  Winners Included:

Miss Honeyfest 2018 Madison Duvall

Miss Teen Honeyfest 2018 McKenna Woosley
Miss Pre-Teen Honeyfest 2018 Izzy Weedman

Mark crossed the county line Friday evening as he had the honor to emcee a book signing event by Author Susan B. Dyer.  Dyer has published her second book “Joseph Holt Mansion: Saving & Restoring the Home of Lincoln’s Judge Advocate General.”  The event was held on the eve of the 10th Annual Holt Day, which is a fundraising event for the community, and allows participants to tour the 14-room mansion, and join in period wear, and activities that are appropriate for the period of when Judge Advocate General Joseph Holt was alive.  The home sets in Breckinridge County and is a true piece of Kentucky history.   Click here to learn more at Holt House

Most of the K105/103.9 The Moose radio crew made their way to Commonwealth Stadium to see UK beat Mississippi State 28-7 in an upset that left UK ranked 17th.  UK is now 4-0 for the season.  You can listen to Kentucky Sports Radio with  Matt Jones on Leitchfield’s Country Station 103.9 The Moose weekdays 10:00 a.m. – Noon.  Catch the Mark Stoops Show each Monday at 5:00 p.m. and Big Blue Weekly each Monday at 6:00 p.m. on K105.

Sam Gormley and his brother, Alex, at Commonwealth Stadium.
Mark and Christy at Commonwealth Stadium for the rainy UK game against Mississippi game Saturday.

Ken Howlett and his friend Seth Burchett enjoyed the game Saturday at Commonwealth Stadium.

Sunday morning, I headed to Bowling Green to see my nephew be baptized into the body of Christ.  Mark enjoyed his church family, and is highlighted here signing Farther Along with Caneyville Christian Church Men’s Trio:  Jim Purcell, Dennis Buckles, Mark Buckles, and Merry Lynn Green with accompaniment. There’s a lot of opportunities to participate in within the 511 square miles of Grayson Co. or or neighbors, and if your non-profit group or organization has an event coming up, please email to me so I can help you promote that: communitycalendar@k105.com

Listen to Shop Local Leitchfield Wednesday morning on Leitchfield’s Country Station 103.9 The Moose at 8:00 a.m. as it’s Where Are We Going Wednesday; we will highlight all of the opportunities coming up in Grayson County for the next week.
