Butler County Sheriff Scottie Ward is asking for the public’s help locating a couple who are passing counterfeit money.

Ward said that fake $100 bills, which are passing the “mark test,” are being passed by Anthony and Ashley Hazelwood at businesses throughout Butler County. The sheriff recommends businesses not take $100 bills “unless you are 100 percent sure” the bills are U.S. currency.

Anyone with information on the Hazelwood’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Butler County Sheriff’s Office at 270-526-3676.

UPDATE (Wednesday @ 5:12 p.m.) — Ward posted on  his personal Facebook page that Anthony Hazelwood was taken into custody late Tuesday evening. Additionally, the sheriff said all of the counterfeit bills that have been passed by the Hazelwood’s have the same serial number: B17696399.
