Phyllis Jane Minton was born on March 14, 1955 at Grayson County War Memorial in Leitchfield KY to her late parents Emmett O. White and Ruby Lee Barnes.  Phyllis was pronounced dead at the scene of an automobile accident on Friday September 28th 2018.

Phyllis was a teacher at Grayson County High School and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church who enjoyed playing cards, running, singing, dancing, and spending time with her family. Her greatest joys in life were God and her grandchildren.

Phyllis is survived by her loving husband of 45 years Kenneth Ray Minton. Her oldest son Christopher Eric Minton, daughter in law Jill Minton, granddaughter Isabella Sophia Minton of Vine Grove, KY.  Her son Jason Andrew Minton, daughter in law Ashley Minton, grand children Nelson Reed Spaulding, Luke Andrew Minton, Catherine Elizabeth Minton and Alexander Thomas Minton of Cold Spring, KY.  Her daughter Kimberly Anne Pennington, son in law Randy Pennington, grandson Nathaniel Ray Pennington of Leitchfield, KY.  Her youngest daughter Allison Suzanne Minton of Louisville, KY.  Her mother in law Coreen Minton of Clarkson KY. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers; Rita Hodges of Clarkson KY, Martina Darst of Calvert City KY, Catherine Barnes of Elizabethtown KY, Janice Russell of Lexington KY, Tony White of Leitchfield KY, Joe White of Louisville KY, Ed White of Leitchfield KY, many nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

She was preceded in death by her father Emmett White, her mother Ruby White, her brother Jimmy White and her brother Lloyd White and her father in law James Vestine Minton.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, (October 3, 2018) at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Leitchfield. Rev. Tony Bickett will be officiating.

A memorial luncheon will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic Church Parish Hall following the funeral mass.

Phyllis’s family would like to thank the countless students, teachers, parents and friends that she encountered throughout her years as an educator for their influence, encouragement and all the lessons they taught her.
