Elizabethtown Independent Schools called off classes for today because of a threat.

An Elizabethtown school district staff member reported the threat, but an investigation by the Elizabethtown Police Department did not determine with certainty the person who made the threat or whether the threat was credible, according to a report by the News-Enterprise.

The decision to cancel classes was made “out of an abundance of caution,” according to district officials. The district announced the decision to cancel classes late Tuesday night via a one-call to parents.

The Elizabethtown PD continues its investigation.
