Caneyville Constable Alvin Dockery ended a hunt for a Leitchfield man wanted for allegedly stealing a trailer last week, and a Rhino ATV sometime Thursday or Friday.

The investigation is ongoing, so law enforcement has very little comment on the case, but the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office had been searching for 43-year-old Patrick Fegan after a warrant was issued for his arrest last week for stealing a trailer. Then, on Friday afternoon at approximately 5:30, Grayson County Chief Deputy Jarrod Mudd responded to a residence on Watershed Road on the report of a stolen Rhino.

Several law enforcement personnel were involved in actively looking for Fegan, including Chief Deputy Mudd, Deputy Mark Newman, GCSO Sgt. Fred Norder, and Deputies Kelsey Overton and DJ Newton. While the GCSO was diligent in its pursuit of the suspect, it was Constable Alvin Dockery who located Fegan — either asleep or passed out – in a truck at approximately 8:00 Friday night outside a residence in the 10300 block of Beaver Dam Road, between Millwood and Caneyville. Parked only feet from the truck occupied by Fegan was the stolen Rhino.

GCSO Lt. Sonny Poteet and Caneyville Police Chief Anthony Clark responded to the Beaver Dam Road location and took Fegan into custody.

He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center where he faces receiving stolen property charges, as well as a parole violation. Additional charges are possible.

In addition to Fegan’s arrest for the trailer theft last week and the theft of the Rhino, Fegan and another man were arrested in October 2017 for stealing a trailer and jet ski from a Blowtown Road residence.

In that case, the owner of the stolen property witnessed the theft and the two suspects were captured in the parking lot of Peddler’s Mall, off West White Oak Street, only minutes after the theft. Items used to manufacture methamphetamine were found in the truck the two suspects occupied.
