Delicious Desserts for the Autumn Season

It autumn and it’s chilly here in Grayson County… and if you love desserts and all things sweet.. cold weather is the perfect time to break out the recipe books and bake something wonderful.

From brownies to cupcakes, donuts to truffles, or anything apple or pumpkin! There are so many yummy recipes out there for the season.

So channel your inner chef and whip up some of these delicious desserts. Share them with your family and friends… or just keep them all to yourself!

Candy Corn & White Chocolate Blondies

Ingredients: 
1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick), melted
1 large egg
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup candy corn
1 cup white chocolate chips

Caramel Apple Cupcakes

Ingredients:
1 2/3 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 1/4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp nutmeg
3 egg whites
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup milk
3/4 cup salted butter, slightly melted
1 large apple, peeled and chopped

Icing Ingredients:
1 cup butter
1 cup shortening
8 cups powdered sugar
3/4 cup + 2 tbsp caramel sauce

Cinnamon Candy Apples

Ingredients:
5-6 apples- washed & sticks inserted
2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup water
2/3 cup white corn syrup
10-15 drops red food color
1 tsp cinnamon candy flavoring

Ingredients:
1 yellow cake mix plus ingredients to prepare it
1 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 cans cream cheese frosting
cinnamon chips
24 cupcake liners

Apple Cider Donuts

Ingredients:
1 c. granulated sugar
1 tbsp. ground cinnamon
3 c. apple cider
2 large eggs
6 tbsp. butter, melted and cooled
3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled, plus more for work surface
2/3 c. packed light brown sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. Kosher salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. apple pie spice
1 48-oz. bottle canola oil

Pumpkin Cheesecake Bars

Crust:
1 1/2 c graham cracker crumbs
3 TB granulated sugar
5 TB melted butter
Cheesecake Layer:
8 oz cream cheese softened
1/4 c sour cream
1/3 c granulated sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 eggs
Pumpkin Layer:
3 egg yolks
15 oz can solid-packed pumpkin puree
1/2 c packed brown sugar
1/2 c milk
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 envelope unflavored gelatin
1/4 c cold water
1/4 c granulated sugar
3 egg whites
pinch cream of tartar
Garnish: 
whipped cream (or topping)

Pumpkin Bread Truffles

What You’ll Need:
one 9×5-in. loaf pumpkin bread (about 1 lb.)
1 cup (about 8-1/2 oz.) cream cheese frosting
24 oz. orange candy coating
2 Tbsp. chocolate chips or chocolate candy coating
2 oz. green candy coating

Ingredients:
1 prepared Brownie Mix
1 tsp cinnamon
Mix according to box adding 1 tsp cinnamon. (I use Ghirardelli or Duncan Hines)

6 oz cream cheese, softened
1 egg
1/3 cup sugar
2 TBSP flour
1/2 cup pumpkin
1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice

Pumpkin Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting

Ingredients
Cupcakes:
2 cups All Purpose Flour, Sifted
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
1 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Nutmeg
½ teaspoons Allspice
1 cup Brown Sugar
1 cup Granulated Sugar
⅔ cups Sour Cream
⅓ cups Oil
4 whole Large Eggs, At Room Temperature And Slightly Beaten
2 cups Pumpkin Puree
Frosting:
1 stick Unsalted Butter, Firm And Slightly Cold (leave It Out On The Counter For About 15 Minutes)
8 ounces, weight Cream Cheese, Cold
⅛ teaspoons Salt
½ teaspoons Vanilla
3-¾ cups Powdered Sugar
Coarse Sugar, For Sprinkling On Top

Ingredients:

For the cookies:
6 Tbs butter, softened
1/3 c sugar
1/3 c brown sugar, lightly packed
1 egg
1/4 c pumpkin
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 c + 1 Tbs all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
For the frosting:
3 oz cream cheese, softened
2 Tbs butter, softened
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 Tbs milk
2 c powdered sugar
