Female visitor at Muhlenberg Co. prison arrested after staff find she was in possession of meth, cocaine, other drugs

On Saturday afternoon at approximately 1:30, Kentucky State Police was dispatched to The Green River Correctional Complex, in Central City, after a female visiting the facility was found with multiple drugs.

Police said the initial investigation revealed that 36-year-old Jenicia Bussell, of Hopkinsville, entered the prison and was caught by the prison staff with contraband. During the encounter with prison staff, Bussell assaulted a staff member, and threatened others, according to Kentucky State Police. The staff member sustained only minor injuries.

Bussell was arrested and charged with four counts of trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine, cocaine, two unspecified drugs), promoting contraband, tampering with physical evidence, menacing, assault of a police/probation officer, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center.

The Green River Correctional Complex is a medium security prison operated by the Kentucky Department of Corrections Justice and Public Safety Cabinet.
