Friday night at approximately 8:00, the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office and Falls of Rough Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Owensboro Road (Hwy 54) and Falls of Rough Road (Hwy 79).

Upon arriving at the scene, Deputies DJ Newton and Mark Johnson found that a Chevrolet Lumina, being driven by 55-year-old Debra Puckett, of Clarkson, was traveling north on Falls of Rough Road when, as she crossed Owensboro Road, she pulled in front of a Chevrolet Avalanche, being driven by Christopher Meredith, as Meredith traveled east.

The Avalanche struck the Lumina on the driver’s side door.

While no one was injured, Puckett was clearly intoxicated, and had a liquor bottle in the front seat of her vehicle. According to a Falls of Rough FD member, Puckett attempted to leave the scene, as a pickup truck arrived to take her away from the accident. Fire department personnel, though, were able to keep Puckett at the scene.

Puckett was arrested and charged with her second DUI, failure to maintain insurance, failure to notify the Department of Transportation of an address change, and failure to produce an insurance card.

She was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
