Cougar Football

Cougar Football -vs- Muhlenburg Co. at Cougar Stadium, game starts at 7:00 p.m.  Locker Room Show with Sam Gormley starts on K105 at 6:30 p.m.  Download the K105 app for iPhone/Android and listen anywhere.  It’s senior night, and there are 15 seniors on the Cougar team to be honored.

5th Quarter Party

Potter’s Hope Ministries will host their 5th Quarter Party for high schoolers after the football game Friday night.  The doors will be open from 9:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

Benefit Singing/Dinner for Teresa Dennison

The Anneta United Baptist Church is having a benefit singing, silent auction, and chili/soup supper for Teresa Dennison, wife of Elbert Dennison, at Grayson County Middle School on Friday.  Teresa is battling cancer, and has been taking chemotherapy. She has many medical bills that are overwhelming. The chili/soup supper and silent auction will begin at 5:00 pm, and the singing will begin at 6:00 pm. The silent auction will end at 7:00 pm.

Saturday:

The Jamaica Jammin’ Car, Truck and Tractor Show at Clarkson Elementary School

The Jamaica Jammin’ Car, Truck and Tractor Show will be hosted at Clarkson Elementary school on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  All vehicles are open to register for this event. Proceeds will go to a mission trip to Jamaica, hosted by St. Elizabeth Church in Clarkson.  All proceeds will be given directly to specific needy organizations in Jamaica.  For further information call: St. Elizabeth Church at 242-4414 or 783-1520.

Trick of Treat Trot 5K

The Twin Lakes Professional Women’s Organization will host the Trick or Treat Trot 5K on Saturday at 8:00 a.m. at the Clarkson Ball Park.  Registration is $25 and you may register that morning. Click here to follow their facebook page.

The Grayson Co. Library will host a week of Frankenstein films the week of Halloween.  Saturday at 2:00 p.m. they will show: Frankenstein Mini-Series, and at 7:00 p.m. they will show: Mary Shelly

Monday:

Homemaker Halloween Party

The Grayson County Extension Homemaker Association will host a festive Halloween Party on Monday at 5:30 p.m. at the Extension Office.  Fun and games are on the night’s agenda, as well as several contests that you can enter.  Prizes will be given for the Best Costume, Best Decorated Pumpkin, and the Grossest Edible Food.  Bring a friend and come out to enjoy a night of fellowship and fun!  The party is free and open to the public, but please RSVP by calling (270) 259-3492.

Halloween Safe Spot at the Grayson Co. Fairgrounds

Halloween Safe Spot will take place on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with set up any time that day; the fairground gates will be open at 9:00 a.m. that morning.  If you would like to participate there are a couple of different ways you can participate.  You can donate candy or goodies of some kind, we take monetary donations which are used to purchase treats for the kids, decorations, or activities to make the night possible, or you may choose to set up a Trick-or-Treat booth.  If you choose to set up a booth feel free to decorate it however you wish and even come in costume.  Most importantly, be sure to come prepared for approximately 3000 Trick-or-Treaters. ECTC Spooktacular Experience in Elizabethtown

If you are feeling spunky, you can leave town and be at ECTC at 2:00 p.m. cst and let your little ones enjoy this just up the street from us.  It sounds pretty amazing!  And you could be back in time for all the events in Grayson Co.

For a “Spooktacular” Halloween experience, trick or treaters are invited to visit Elizabethtown Community and Technical College from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. est on Halloween. Kids of all ages can explore the many buildings, offices and programs on campus, where they will find decorations and treats, like candy, cookies, ice cream, prizes and lots of fun activities and music.

Little ghouls and goblins, superheroes and princesses, can be fingerprinted in the Criminal Justice program, they can make creepy hot chocolate and spooky balloons at Skills U, help judge a pumpkin-carving contest, get photos with WKU’s Big Red from 3:45 – 4:15 p.m. est, compete for cupcakes in a “Cupcake Walk,” “Spin the Wheel” for prizes, and decorate mini-pumpkins while listening to a guitar concert.

Visit the Mad Scientist in a chemistry lab where he’ll conjure up some gooey slime, and stop by the library for crafts and special 3-D printed Halloween gadgets. Families and groups can test their teamwork and problem-solving skills in an Escape Room, and those who want to stick around can enjoy an indoor movie night with “Monsters U” at 6:00 p.m. est.  The ECTC Spooktacular is free and open to the public.  ECTC is located at 600 College Street Road, Elizabethtown, KY, 42701.  For more information call 270-769-2371.
