(Leitchfield, KY) – The rain may have disrupted Halloween hours for Grayson Co., pushing trick-or-treat hours from Wednesday to Tuesday; however, if you are still wanting to gain some mileage from your costume, there is still a Fall Festival at Leitchfield Baptist Church happening tonight (Wednesday, Oct. 31) from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.  But don’t take my word for it, check out this video Dennis Cook, Worship Pastor, and Joey Snyder, Youth Pastor, made to promote tonight’s event.  And yes, the Delorean will be there tonight for you check-out.

Thursday:

Cooking Through the Calendar

The Extension Office will host a cooking through the calendar class Thursday, November 1st at 4:30. The class will feature a new recipe each month along with samples and a free gift. Registration is required. Call 270-259-3492.

 

Utilities Meeting

Leitchfield Utilities Commission will meet Thursday at 5 at Leitchfield City Hall.

 

GCHS SBCM Council Meeting

The Grayson County High School Site Based Council will meet Thursday at 3:30 in the GCHS Conference Room.

 

Leitchfield Women’s Club

The Leitchfield Women’s Club will meet Thursday, November 1st at 5:30 at the Jack Thomas House.

 

Friday:

Grayson County Cougar Football

Cougars -vs- Graves Co. at Graves Co.  Locker Room Show with Sam Gormley begins at 6:30 p.m. with kick-off at 7:00 p.m. 

Deer Widow’s Weekend

Rough River Dam State Resort Park is hosting Deer Widows Weekend for the ladies, and boost its 8th annual craft show.  Spend the weekend relaxing and enjoying VIP treatment if you are a Deer Widow’s guest.  Click here for more information

 

Clarkson Fall Festival

Clarkson Elementary School will host their fall festival from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 .m. Friday night, featuring the lunch ladies famous chili, games for all ages, live and silent auctions, and much more.  This is their biggest fundraiser of the year, and everyone is invited to attend.

 

Car Cruise-In

The Western Kentucky Car Club was founded in 2010.  It is for car lovers with any class of automobiles, rat rods, motorcycles, etc.  They are a nonprofit organization that in the last few years has helped the Special Olympics, the Shop with a Fireman Program and donated to various other charities within our community.  The mission of the car club to look for local charities that could use some support and also to enjoy the cars.  There will be a cruise-in Friday, Nov. 2nd from 6:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Southgate Mall in Leitchfield.

 

Saturday:

Grayson County Relay For Life Breakfast Kick Off-Pancake Breakfast

Saturday, November 3rd. 7 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at the Centre on Main

Tickets are $5 for 2 Pancakes, 2 Sausage Links, and a cup of Orange Juice or Milk

 

HOSA 5K

On Saturday, November 3rd HOSA will be sponsoring their 2nd Annual 5K Run/Walk for the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation at the Grayson County Technology Center.  Cost is $15 with a shirt, and you must pre-register.  $10 without a shirt and no pre-registration required.

 

St Paul School Host Turkey and Ham Shoot

St. Paul School will host a Turkey and Ham Shoot on Saturday, November 3.  There will be an all you can eat breakfast beginning at 8:00 .M..  Shooting will begin at 9:00 .m., with the opportunity to win turkeys and hams, as well as $300 in prizes.  There is also a raffle for a $500 gift certificate to Bass Pro Shop.  All are welcome, including youth.  Participants are to bring their own shotgun.  For further information, call St. Paul School at 242-7483.

 

Sunday:

Clearview Baptist Church Revival

Clearview Baptist Church will host revival from Sunday Nov. 4 – 7th at 6:30 p.m. nightly.  Bro. Bruce Underhill will be the evangelist.  Everyone welcome.

 

Monday:

National cybersafety expert Frederick Lane will present a special and very important session for all parents next Monday, Nov. 5, at 6 pm at Clarkson Elementary School.  The internet, smart phones, and social media present a variety of new risks for children and teens, along with new challenges for parents. Lane, the author of “Cybertraps for the Young,” will provide practical tips on the basics of cybersafety, along with an open question and answer session.   You won’t want to miss this one-night-only opportunity to hear from this nationally renowned expert.
