Leitchfield woman arrested after police find multiple severely malnourished dogs

On Tuesday, the Leitchfield Police Department, along with Animal Control officers, responded to a property on Owensboro Road after receiving multiple complaints about maltreated animals.

Upon arriving at the property, authorities located three dogs suffering from gross malnourishment and other maladies.

Police arrested 26-year-old Alexis Cilyok, of Leitchfield, and charged her with three counts of second-degree animal cruelty and lodged her in the Grayson County Detention Center. She is no longer listed as an inmate.

Second-degree animal cruelty is a class A misdemeanor, punishable by 90 days to one-year in jail and a $500 fine.
