A retired central Kentucky fire chief has been arrested on child porn charges.
Former Danville Fire Chief James W. Ball, 53, was jailed on charges out of North Dakota for possession and distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor.
Detectives from the Bismarck Police Department say Ball has an active arrest warrant resulting from a 2015 child exploitation investigation. Ball lived in North Dakota in 2015 as he served as Fire Marshall in Williston, North Dakota.
Ball is being held in the Boyle County Detention Center awaiting extradition to North Dakota.
