On Monday afternoon at approximately 3:40, multiple law enforcement agencies arrested a Leitchfield man after he forcibly entered a woman’s residence and held a knife to her throat.

Clarkson Police Chief Buck Meredith, Leitchfield Police Officer Eugene Cain and Grayson County Special Deputy Mark Stanton served a multiple felony arrest warrant on 47-year-old Michael E. Finn for second-degree burglary, first-degree wanton endangerment, third-degree terroristic threatening, and fourth-degree assault, at a residence on South Broadway Street, in Leitchfield.

The arrest warrant for Finn accuses him of breaking into the Clarkson residence of a former girlfriend Friday night and waiting for her to arrive home. Upon the victim coming home, Finn, from behind, put a knife to her throat and his hand over her mouth, and took her phone. He then threw her to the ground and got on top of her while threatening to use the knife on her, according to the warrant.

Finn was arrested without incident and transported to the Grayson County Detention Center.

Finn’s Monday arrest marks at the least the third time since August 2017 that he has been arrested. In March of this year, Meredith arrived at Finn’s home in the 2500 block of Kiper Road to arrest him on a burglary charge. When Meredith located Finn, the suspect fled on foot, running down Kiper Road as cars stopped in the roadway to keep from hitting the fleeing Finn and Meredith.

Meredith caught Finn after pursuing him for 150 to 200 yards, bringing him down in a roadside ditch. Finn continued to resist as Meredith cuffed him.

In that case, Finn was charged with receiving stolen property (over $500, under $10,000), wanton endangerment of a police officer, fleeing or evading police, and resisting arrest. He was later indicted on those charges.

Additionally, Finn was arrested in August of last year after running naked down Memory Lane, in Leitchfield. In that case, he was charged with public intoxication (excludes alcohol) and indecent exposure.
