On Friday, the Bay County (Fla.) Sheriff’s Office arrested an Owensboro man on 10 child sexual sex charges.

Kentucky State Police said 29-year-old Travis C. McDaniel, who was temporarily working in Bay County, Florida, was arrested on eight counts of unlawful transaction with a minor (illegal sex act with a minor under 16), use of a minor under 16 in a sexual performance and prohibited use of an electronic communication system to procure a minor for sex offenses.

McDaniel was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the “suspect communicating with a juvenile online to include the exchange of illegal images and meeting the juvenile for illegal sexual acts,” according to police.

Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized by Bay County law enforcement and will be transferred to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is expected to yield further charges and remains ongoing.

McDaniel was lodged in the Bay County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Daviess County.
