A Boone County High School student has been charged by police after posting a threatening message on Snapchat.

The 15-year-old male student posted a message Tuesday night that showed him with a weapon and asking if anyone had ammunition, according to WKRC.com. Another Snapchat message posted by the same teen said “Pray it work out.” Parents of other students notified police about the posts.

Police seized a weapon and charged the juvenile with disorderly conduct.

Sheriff Michael Helmig told WKRC.com, “Our effectiveness in these cases often relies on parents and/or students coming forward with information. It doesn’t matter how innocuous it may seem at the time. Report it and allow us to make the determination as to whether it rises to the criminal level.”
