The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office has completed an investigation into the sexual abuse of a victim younger than 18-years-old.
Earlier this month, deputies arrested 43-year-old Jason Barrett, of Centertown, and charged him with six counts of first-degree sexual abuse. Police found that Barrett had at least six illegal encounters with the victim between January 2016 and November 2018.
On Tuesday, detectives arrested Barrett’s wife, 41-year-old Katherine Barrett, of Centertown, and charged her with complicity to first-degree sexual abuse and four counts of intimidating a participant in the legal process.
Both suspects are lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center on $50,000 cash bonds.
