It appeared the Lady Cougars were going to run away and hide from the Lady Bears after scoring the first 11 points of the game.

The Lady Bears did not get on the scoreboard until Kasidy Graham hit a three-pointer with 3:35 left in the first period. The Lady Cougars then reeled off 14 unanswered points to take a commanding 22-point lead, 25-3 at the 6:52 mark of the second period. They led by 23 points, 36-13 at the half.

The Lady Bears made it a closer game by outscoring the Lady Cougars 21-9 in the fourth quarter, but their deficit was just too large to overcome.

A lay-in by Kenzie Renfrow at the 6:07 mark gave Grayson County their largest lead of the game at the time. Renfrow and Rachael Snyder both made multiple trips to the free throw line in the quarter to help pace the Lady Cougars to a 55-37 lead.

At that point, it looked like it would be an easy second win in a row for the Lady Cougars, but Ohio County had other ideas. The Lady Eagles outscored the Lady Cougars 22-4 in the final quarter which included a three in the closing seconds by Kelsey Kennedy to tie the game at 59. Laura Vincent’s halfcourt shot at the buzzer was short and what once looked like an easy Lady Cougar win was heading into overtime.

In the extra period, Ohio County took the lead early on, but Bailey Snyder hit a clutch three from the left corner that gave the Lady Cougars the lead for good.
