A Clarkson man was arrested Sunday night after an alleged domestic assault that included the suspect pointing a stolen handgun at his girlfriend.

According to the arrest citation, Grayson County Deputy Mark Johnson responded to Johnson Bvld., in Clarkson, at approximately 6:10 Sunday night after 44-year-old Christopher H. Johnson allegedly caused lacerations and swelling on his girlfriend’s face, hand and neck during a domestic dispute.

Upon Dep. Johnson arriving, the suspect had left the residence, but the victim was “obviously in fear,” according to the citation. Dep. Johnson then observed that the back window of the victim’s vehicle had been “broken out,” with a “large shoe print” found on the driver’s side door.

As Dep. Johnson and the victim made their way into the garage area, the deputy detected the odor of marijuana. The deputy asked the victim the location of the marijuana, and according to the citation, “Upon entering the room where the marijuana was located, there was also a pistol on the adjacent dresser.”

The victim became emotional, according to the citation, and said that it was the pistol that the suspect pointed at her. A check of the serial number on the gun revealed it was stolen.

Dep. Johnson was then alerted by Central Dispatch that Christopher Johnson was at the Leitchfield Police Department, with the deputy requesting LPD officers arrest the suspect and transport him to the Grayson County Detention Center.

Johnson was charged with felony wanton endangerment, felony receiving stolen property (firearm), terroristic threatening, menacing, fourth-degree assault, and possession of marijuana.

He is no longer listed as an inmate at the Grayson County Detention Center.
