A Glenmore Distillery employee has died on the job.

The incident, which officials said was a work-related fall, occurred just after 1:00 Monday afternoon. The distillery, which bottles bourbon and rum, has ceased all operations “until further notice,” Public Relations Manager Amy Preske told media outlets.

Initially, authorities say the death appears to be accidental. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.

The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.

In March of 2009, the Sazerac Company purchased the distillery and reprised the name Glenmore Distillery. Glenmore boasts one of the largest and most modern bottling facilities in the country, according to the company’s website. The distillery is located on East 4th Street.
