The Kentucky Attorney General’s Office has announced that an Elizabethtown man was arrested and charged with more than 150 counts of sex crimes.

Christopher J. Carroll, 20, who worked as a dispatcher at the Hardin County E-911 Center, has been charged with 50 counts of use of a minor in a sexual performance (victim under age of 18), nine counts of use of a minor in a sexual performance (victim under age of 16), 100 counts of possessing matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance, six counts of harassing communications, and two counts of second-degree stalking.

Carroll’s Friday arrest stems from an investigation that began in September 2018. According to cyber investigators, Carroll allegedly created multiple false social media profiles to communicate and deceive minors to obtain nude images.

Assisting the Attorney General’s cyber crime investigators in the investigation and in arresting Carroll were the U.S. Secret Service, Hardin County Sheriff’s Office and Elizabethtown Police Department.

Carroll is being held in the Hardin County Detention Center on a $100,000 cash bond.
