Lady Cougars fall to Breckinridge County 65-43

Visiting Breckinridge County put together two big runs that the Lady Cougars were unable to answer and the Lady Tigers went on to a 65-43 win last Friday evening in the Cougar Den.

The first period ended with three straight lead changes in the last two minutes. The Lady Tigers took a 12-11 lead into the second period.

Two more lead changes opened the second period, followed by two ties. A lay-in by Kaylee Masden at the 6:18 mark gave the Lady Cougars a 19-17 lead. That would turn out to be the last lead of the night for the Lady Cougars.

Leading 22-21 at the 4:18 mark, the Lady Tigers went on a 12-2 run to increase their lead to 11 points, 34-23 with 2:41 remaining. The Lady Tigers hit four straight three-pointers to account for their 12 points. Grayson County trailed by nine points, 36-27 at the half.

Grayson County scored the last five points of the third quarter and trailed by six points, 43-37 heading into the final period of play.

A 10-footer by Rachael Snyder at the 6:35 mark cut the lead to just four points, 45-41, but the Lady Tigers responded with a 10-0 run to push the lead to 14 points, and the Lady Cougars were never closer than 11 points the rest of the way.

Isabel Grimes led the Lady Tigers in scoring with 19 points, which included five three-point baskets. Natalie Tabor also hit five threes for her 15 points.

Kenzie Renfrow led the Lady Cougars in scoring with 16 points and she made it a double-double night with 10 rebounds. She also added four assists and two steals to her totals.

Rachael Snyder finished with nine points. Masden and Bailey Snyder both finished with five points, while Ella Robinson and Laura Vincent closed out the scoring with four points each. Vincent added nine rebounds and Robinson added five.
