Boyd D. Lampton, age 77, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Monday, (January 21, 2019) at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville, KY.
He was born on February 16, 1941 in Madrid, KY, the son of the late Lennie and Zoa Tucker Lampton.
He was a retired barber by trade, a dedicated and loved staff member and friend of Dermitt Funeral Home, and a devoted brother. He always had a smile and a cheerful come-back to any conversation he was in and always was willing to help others in need. Boyd enjoyed playing piano, decorating his house for Christmas, and being with his sisters. He was a member of McDaniels Antioch United Methodist Church, where he played piano for services.
He is survived by his sisters, Thelma Poole of McDaniels, Mattie Smith, Freda Nelson, and Shirley Lampton all of Leitchfield; two nieces and five nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, baby brother, Justis Lamar Lampton, brother, Blackburn Lampton, and nephew Justin Hudson, Jr.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, (January 26, 2019) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Ricky Armstrong will be officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery in McDaniels.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
