The Grayson County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of the man killed in a rollover accident Sunday night.

Deputy Coroner Larry Holeman said 42-year-old Mark Higgs, of Brownsville, died after his Jeep Cherokee left Bowling Green Road and traveled down embankment.

Grayson County Sheriff’s Deputies Kelsey Overton and Brandon Rafferty and Kentucky State Police Trooper Jared Clemons, along with the Caneyville Fire Department and EMS, responded to the scene.

Based on marks at the scene, Higgs was traveling south in a straight stretch when the Jeep left the roadway and traveled down an embankment, rolling over at least once (but based on the damage to the vehicle, it’s likely the Jeep rolled multiple times).

Higgs, according to Caneyville fire personnel, was not wearing a seat belt. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and was the vehicle’s only occupant.
