Leitchfield, KY – As she makes her way to Frankfort, Ky Wednesday to speak to a room full of legislators about the real faces of hunger in Kentucky, Debbie Childress, Grayson County Alliance Director, says she will be wearing orange that day.

It’s a statewide campaign Wednesday to bring awareness to the real hunger needs across the Commonwealth:  “Orange Out” on Hunger Free KY Day .

Childress encourages everyone to wear orange on Wednesday just to start a conversation about the real needs in Grayson Co., where she says the Grayson County Alliance serves over 700 families each month who are struggling with food insecurity.

The GCA is funded solely on donations and grant dollars, and offers several services for the people of Grayson County including the VITA Tax Program  -where families who earn $66,000 or less can have their taxes filed for free – and a variety of other classes each month, as well as at least two food distribution days each week.

Childress says if anyone would like to speak with her about services they offer they can call (270) 259-4000, or message the GCA on Facebook.
