Two Leitchfield residents have been charged with new counts in an elderly abuse case dating back five years.

Jerry Snyder, 34, and Kayla Kinser, 36, both of Leitchfield, were indicted in 2014 on multiple counts of criminal abuse, assault, wanton endangerment, and knowingly abusing/neglecting an adult while they worked at Genesis HealthCare’s Edmonson Center Nursing Home, in Brownsville. Snyder and Kinser, along with Kelly Duvall, 54, of Sweeden, were charged with a total of 69 counts in the original indictments. The three were indicted as co-defendants.

Last month, though, Edmonson County Commonwealth Attorney Blake Chambers presented charges superseding the charges from 2014, according to the Bowling Green Daily News. The new charges accuse all three of knowingly abusing/neglecting an adult — Snyder is facing 11 counts, Kinser eight and Duvall four. The charge is a class C felony.

The abuse allegedly occurred between August 2013 and February 2014 and involved multiple victims.

A trial for all three suspects has been scheduled for April 29 in Edmonson Circuit Court.
