2 arrested on drug trafficking, theft charges after becoming stuck in mud behind Fordsville church

At approximately 10:00 Monday morning, the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint behind New Hope Church on Hwy 54 in Fordsville.

Ohio County Sheriff Tracy Beatty said the vehicle drove behind the church in the early morning hours of Monday and became stuck in the mud. Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle and located two handguns, a digital scale, methamphetamine, several hypodermic needles, marijuana, and items belonging to the church.

Deputies arrested 33-year-old Bobby Kehne, of Bonnieville, and 26-year-old Amanda Jewell, of Horse Cave, and charged each with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), theft by unlawful taking under $500 (less than $10,000), possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Kehne was also charged with criminal mischief and having an improper registration plate.

Both suspects are being held in the Ohio County Detention Center.
