Making the move from the familiar halls of high school to college or a new career can be overwhelming. Grayson County High School students will soon have a new resource to guide them to success on that journey.

Brandi Lee has joined Grayson County Schools in the newly created position of Transition Coordinator, a role in which she will work one-on-one with students and employers alike.

A career educator, Lee has taught all ages, from elementary to college. She was previously an Adjunct Professor with Elizabethtown Community and Technical College, often working with freshmen, “helping them build their confidence and showing them how to be successful.”

In her new role, she will work with students to plan and navigate the classes, higher level opportunities, certifications and hands-on job experiences that will allow them to leave GCHS ready for the next step.

She will also work closely with local businesses to determine their workforce needs, serving as a liaison between the Grayson County Technology Center, Grayson County High School and the business community.

According to Superintendent Doug Robinson, the district has vast opportunities for students to succeed in any number of pathways. Bringing those opportunities together with employer needs will be key in creating a win-win for student and community success stories.

“We’re thrilled to have Brandi on board to work with our students to help them build pathways unique to their interests and skills,” Robinson said. “Having someone dedicated to making those vital connections between student abilities and workforce needs will create an immediate and long-term benefit to our students, employers and community alike. “

Lee’s work with freshmen, “empowering them to reach their career goals,” has her excited to work with high school students before they make that transition, especially in “helping them find their footing, helping them figure out where they can be successful.”

She looks forward to serving as a liaison between the community and education. Starting from the ground up, that will initially mean listening, learning and “getting the vision of all the people invested in the program.”

Lee received her Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Kentucky.  She holds a Master’s degree in school administration.

She is married to Dr. Mark Lee, OBGYN at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center, and the mother of two boys, Aidan, a 7th grader at Grayson County Middle School, and Connor, a 5th grader at Lawler Elementary.
