Deloris Fulkerson: Appointed as Advisor to FSA County Committee

(Leitchfield, KY) – Deloris Fulkerson of Grayson Co. appointed as Advisor to FSA County Committee on March 14, 2019, during the Administrative Division’s portion of the State Committee meeting in Lexington, the STC approved Deloris Fulkerson to serve as an advisor to the Grayson County Farm Service Agency County Committee. She will be working along with the current Committee which is comprised of J.H. Manion, Jack Ewing, and Charles Edwards. Deloris will serve as an important and much needed representative of the female farming community.

Deloris was born and raised in Hart County. She is the oldest of seven children. She started working on the farm when she was just 3 years old. She married in 1965 and moved to Grayson County where she and her husband continued to farm raising cattle, horses and tobacco. She quit public work 1976 to stay home and tend to the farm, by this time their cattle herd had grown and they were raising registered Angus cattle. Her husband passed away in 2014, Delores continues to manage the farm of approximately 500 acres. Her farming practices include CRP, grain production, alfalfa, and cattle.

Many may not realize how significant and strong the female farming community is in Grayson County. It is our goal to represent this community to the best of our ability and ensure they are receiving the support they deserve. This will be Deloris’ fourth term as advisor and she has handled this position with great poise and respect the last 3 years, she will continue to work hard to ensure equal and fair treatment for the female farming community. We are honored to have her serve with us for 2019.
