An 18-year-old woman has been charged with murder in the death of her 19-year-old boyfriend.
Jordan Witt, of Lawrenceburg, was arrested late Thursday night after a nearly week long investigation into the death of her boyfriend and Eastern Kentucky University student, Kyle York.
York was killed Sunday morning after Witt, who police say was intoxicated on an unspecified drug, placed a handgun to her boyfriend’s head and shot him at a Lawrenceburg residence. He later died at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.
Media reports indicate York was studying at EKU to become a drug counselor. He graduated from Anderson County High School in 2018.
Witt is being held in the Shelby County Detention Center on a $250,000 cash bond.
