James “Walt” Decker, age 81 of Leitchfield, passed away Friday, April 19th 2019 at the University of Louisville Hospital. He was born December 15th 1937 in Grayson County, KY the son of James H.Decker & Vertie Decker Thompson.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Decker of Leitchfield, two daughters, Pamela Aird of Louisville & LaWanna Scott (Mark) of Caneyville, one son, James Decker (Elisha) of Peonia, two step-sons, John Gross of Big Clifty & Michael Gross (Serena) of Big Clifty, two step-daughters, Janet Cook (Donald) & Rebecca Nelson (Paul) of Clarkson, several ggrandkids, step-grandkids, great grandkids, and step-grandkids.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Wanda Lee Decker, one son, Douglas Decker, and a great granddaughter, Alena Scott.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday (April 24) at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the McGrew Church Cemetery in Anneta. Visitation will be held from 4:30 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday (April 23) and from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
