A Louisville man has admitted to viciously beating his infant son.

Donnie E. Rowe, 28, of Louisville, told police he was on drugs when he beat his two-month-old son so severely that the baby suffered multiple skull fractures, retinal hemorrhages and other serious injuries consistent with abusive head trauma.

The incident occurred Friday night at Kenwood Mobile Home Park, on Taylor Boulevard in Louisville.

The baby is being treated at Norton Children’s Hospital, and according to officials it’s not yet clear if the baby will survive.

Rowe, who is charged with first-degree assault and felony child abuse, is being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on a $100,000 cash bond.
