A former Bowling Green High School and Western Kentucky University football star has been sentenced to five years in prison on drug trafficking charges.

Nacarius Fant, 24, was sentenced earlier this week in a Warren County courtroom for trafficking in a controlled substance (cocaine), according to media reports. Fant was arrested in August 2018 following a lengthy investigation by the Bowling Green/Warren County Drug Task Force into drug trafficking on the WKU campus. During the investigation, police executed four cocaine purchases from Fant.

He was indicted on four counts of trafficking in a controlled substance (cocaine, over four grams) in October.

Fant, who was selected Kentucky’s Mr. Football in 2013, played four seasons for WKU and was the team’s leading receiver his senior year. At Bowling Green High School, Fant was a key member of three Class 5A state championship squads.
