A Todd County woman has been arrested after police found a bag of methamphetamine that had been placed next to a small child.

A Kentucky State Trooper executed a traffic stop on 28-year-old Tiffany Simmons, of Sharon’s Grove, for speeding and careless driving near Elkton, in Todd County, and determined she was under the influence. Police said that during a search of her Honda Civic, troopers found a bag of methamphetamine laying next to a nine-year-old child in the back seat.

While checking her information, police said the trooper discovered Simmons had warrants for her arrest for a probation violation and failure to appear.

Simmons was charged with endangering the welfare of a minor, DUI (aggravating circumstances, her second offense), possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), careless driving, possession of drug paraphernalia, and speeding. She is lodged in the Todd County Detention Center.
