Officials working to identify dead body found in Butler Co. house fire

Kentucky State Police is investigating after a dead body was found at the site of a Butler County residential fire.

Wednesday afternoon at approximately 3:45, state police responded to 266 Granny’s Rockhouse Road, about 10 miles east of Morgantown, after an unidentified person was discovered in a burned residence by fire department officials.

The body was taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for positive identification and cause of death. Police said foul play is not suspected.

KSP Arson Investigator Terry Scott is leading the investigation.
