A Clarkson man is facing 20 counts of child sexual exploitation after an investigation by Kentucky State Police.

On Friday, the KSP Electronic Crime Branch arrested 37-year-old Clayton Russell Griffith following an undercover internet crimes against children investigation. The investigation began after police discovered Griffith was in possession of computer files containing images of child sexual exploitation.

Police said the investigation resulted in a “knock and talk” conducted by state police at Griffith’s Clarkson residence, where equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination.

Griffith is currently charged with 20 counts of possessing/viewing of matter portraying sexual performance by a minor, a class D felony.

He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center on a $150,000 bond. The investigation into Griffith’s activities continues.
