On Thursday night, Kentucky State Police arrested a Clarkson woman on multiple drug charges after a traffic stop in Big Clifty.

Thursday night at approximately 7:30, Kentucky State Trooper Jakob Clemons was patrolling St. Paul Road when he executed a traffic stop on a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am with a headlight and taillight out.

Upon identifying the driver, 39-year-old Jennifer Carroll, Clemons learned she had an outstanding warrant for her arrest. Further investigation showed that Carroll was unsteady on her feet and displayed “extremely dilated pupils,” according to the arrest citation.

Clemons, in the arrest citation, said Carroll “stated that she had meth, with two meth pipes in her purse.” A subsequent search of the car revealed methamphetamine, pipes (with meth residue) and various other drug paraphernalia in Carroll’s purse. Clemons also located a Gabapentin pill (not in a container).

Carroll then informed Clemons she had smoked methamphetamine “recently,” according to the citation.

Carroll was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), having a prescription drug not in its proper container, DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia, improper equipment, and having only one working headlight. Carroll was also served with the active warrant.

She was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
