At Tuesday afternoon’s Grayson County Fiscal Court meeting, magistrates agreed to remit a payment for the extensive brick work being completed on the Grayson County Government building on East White Oak Street.

The $92,435 payment to Ud Contracting will be made by the Grayson County Detention Center. The balance of the $196,000 cost to replace the brick will be paid by insurance, according to Judge-Executive Kevin Henderson.

Speed limit study

At the request of a resident of Fragrant Road, and with the approval of Fiscal Court, a study will be conducted by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to determine what the speed limit should be on the seven-tenths of a mile roadway.

The study comes after a family with four children complained that some motorists are driving too fast in the area, potentially putting their children at risk.

Fragrant Road runs off Rock Creek Road, about four miles southeast of Clarkson. It currently has no speed limit signs.

Fiscal Court meeting day moved

With the first Fiscal Court meeting of November set for Tuesday morning, November 5, which is also election day, magistrates voted to move the meeting to Wednesday, November 6. The meeting will remain at 11:00 a.m.
