Johnson & Johnson is recalling 33,000 bottles of baby powder due to asbestos contamination concerns. Asbestos exposure has been linked to cancer.

The FDA said that out of an abundance of caution, Johnson & Johnson is initiating a voluntary recall of a single lot of its Johnson’s Baby Powder in response to an FDA test indicating the presence of sub-trace levels of chrysotile asbestos contamination.

Despite the low levels reported, and in full cooperation and collaboration with the FDA, Johnson & Johnson is initiating this voluntary recall of Lot #22318RB of Johnson’s Baby Powder. Consumers with baby powder from this lot are advised to discontinue use of the product.
