The Boil Water Advisory issued on Friday for sections of Leitchfield has been lifted.
The advisory was issued out of an abundance of caution after a water main break, according to Leitchfield Utilities Superintendent Dwight Embry. Embry said the state certified drinking water laboratory has tested the samples gathered by utility employees from several sites. The tests were free of contamination, resulting in the Kentucky Division of Water approving lifting the advisory.
The advisory was issued for the following areas of the city:
- North Main Street from Marion Street to Kelly Street
- Lilac Road to Carwile Drive
- North Broadway and Chester Street to the intersection of Tilden Street
