Former principal indicted on nearly 20 child porn charges

A former principal with Clark County Schools has been indicted on nearly 20 child porn charges.

Phillip T. Wilson, 54, has been indicted for possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor under the age of 16 and promoting matter portraying sexual performance by a minor under the age of 16, according to media reports. In total, Wilson was indicted on 17 counts.

He was originally arrested in August 2019 and charged with 15 counts of distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor and 15 counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor.

Wilson was principal of the Clark County Area Technology Center, on the Clark County High School campus. The school is operated by the Kentucky Department of Education. Wilson previously taught in the Montgomery County and Madison County school districts.

He was lodged in the Clark County Detention Center but is now free on bond.
