2 Hardinsburg men arrested after police find synthetic weed, cocaine during traffic stop

Two Hardinsburg men have been arrested on felony drug charges in Butler County.

Monday night at approximately 6:00, the Morgantown Police Department assisted Kentucky Fish and Wildlife officers with a traffic stop on a vehicle with no headlights on at North Main Street and West Morrison Street, in Morgantown, according to Morgantown PD Chief Giles Taylor.

Upon making contact with the occupants of the vehicle, Jason Scott Owens and John Allen Dean Jr., police discovered the men had outstanding arrest warrants. Taylor said further investigation at the scene revealed the men were in possession of synthetic marijuana, cocaine, and a pill. Multiple syringes were also located as well as a handgun and digital scales.

Both suspects were arrested and charged with trafficking in synthetic drugs, possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) and possession of drug paraphernalia. They are lodged in the Butler County Jail.
