The Lady Coufars came into Friday’s game at North Hardin ri9ing a four-game win streak, but the Lady Trojans put an end to it, coming away with a close, 46-43 win in Radcliff.

Senior guard Kenzie Renfrow needed just 18 points to join the 1,000-point club, but she came up a point short before fouling out with 36 seconds left to play. She will have to wait until this evening’s game against Owensboro to reach that milestone.

With the Lady Cougars leading by one, 4-3 at the 5:57 mark of the first period, the Lady Trojans went on a 10-0 run to take charge of the game. They led by nine points, 15-6 heading into the second period.

When the Lady Cougars opened the second quarter on an 8-2 run, they cut the North lead to just three points, 17-14 with 5:01 left in the half. North responded with five unanswered points to lead by eight, 22-14 with 3:37 left. They led by seven, 28-21 at the half.

North scored the first five points of the third period to take a 12-point lead, 33-21 with 4:22 remaining, but Renfrow hit a pair of three-pointers in the closing moments to close back to within six points of the lead, 33-27 at the start of the fourth quarter.

A rebound basket by senior Bailey Snyder with 2:49 left to play brought the Lady Cougars to within three points at 39-36, but that would be as close as they would get the rest of the way.

The Lady Trojans put three players into double figures, led by senior guard Addison Sutton who finished with 14 points. Destiny Barnes scored 13 points, while Akeylah Woods added 12.

Renfrow led all scorers with 17 points and she added four rebounds. Junior Rachael Snyder scored 11 points and shared the team lead in rebounds with her sister, Bailey, at six apiece.

Ella Robinson scored six points, while Aryssa Riggs added four. Bailey Snyder and Jenna Nash both scored two points, and Annie Kiper added one to close out the scoring.
