Edmonson County crushes Lady Cougars 63-32

Thursday night in Brownsville, the LadyCats of Edmonson County put a 31-point whipping on the Lady Cougars by the score of 63-32.

The Lady Cougars led just once in the game, 2-0 when they scored off the opening tip. They hit just 2-of-10 shots in the opening period and trailed by nine, 13-4 at the start of the second period and trailed by 20 at the half. For the game, the Lady Cougars shot just 23 percent from the field on 13-of-56 shooting. They were 3-of-31 from the three-point arc, a polar 9.7 percent.

When Macie McCombs hit a three at the 5:41 mark of the third quarter, the lead had grown to 37 points, 41-14 and the clock began running continuously.  By the start of the fourth quarter, head coach Ted Hill had thrown in the towel and inserted his JV players into the game.

The LadyCats put four players into double figures, led by senior Lauren Ballance with 13 points. Emma Rose Vincent scored 12 points, while McCombs and Katie Lindsey had 11 points apiece.

Kenzie Renfrow led the Lady Cougars with 10 points. Riley Stevenson had six, while Bailey Snyder and Laura Vincent had four each. Gracie Frankllin added three points, with Rachael Snyder and Brianna Dennis having two apiece. Briley Renfrow had one to complete the scoring.
