The Muhlenberg County Health Department says seven cases of COVID-19 have been diagnosed in that county this week.

Two cases of coronavirus were announced on Monday by health department officials. Late Wednesday afternoon, it was announced that five more cases of the virus had been diagnosed in a county of about 31,000 residents.

“If you have not been contacted as a part of our case investigation, you are at low risk of being exposed to these positive cases,” health department officials told county residents in a Facebook post. “We cannot divulge personal information due to Health Privacy Laws. If you feel like you may need to be tested, please contact the Owensboro Health Hotline 1-877-888-6647. A triage nurse will obtain information and give the next steps to be completed.”

Kentucky currently has 198 diagnosed cases of COVID-19. Five deaths have been blamed on the virus. About 3,300 people in the state have been tested.
