Six new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases have been confirmed in Grayson County.

Judge-Executive Kevin Henderson said at Wednesday’s COVID-19 briefing that all six cases are connected to Grayson Nursing & Rehabilitation, as four residents have tested positive along with two staff members.

The four residents are all women, ages 90, 94, 97, and 80. The employees are also both female, ages 19 and 39.

The newly confirmed cases increase Grayson County’s total to 24 victims, with 18 tied to Grayson Nursing & Rehabilitation; nine residents and nine staff members.

Two nursing home residents are hospitalized and in stable condition, according to Henderson. All other COVID-19 positive nursing home residents are quarantined at the 72-bed facility.

One Grayson County victim, a 66-year-old man (not a resident of Grayson Nursing & Rehabilitation), has been transferred “to a higher acuity facility,” according to Grayson County Health Department Director Josh Embry. He is in intensive care in critical but stable condition, according to Henderson.

In total, 262 people have been tested for the virus in Grayson County, with 205 people testing negative. Thirty-three tests are pending. Five victims have recovered.
