In honor of Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week, the Grayson County Board of Education has released a letter expressing its appreciation to employees of Grayson County Schools.

In this difficult and unprecedented time, the board profusely thanked staff members, including teachers, aides, secretaries, nurses, transportation employees, food services workers and many others for their hard work and willingness to adjust to the demands created by the coronavirus pandemic.

The letter, in full, can be found below:

In Appreciation to Our GCS Staff:

We can’t say thank you enough for the magnificent job you do for our students every day, and especially how you’ve so successfully navigated these recent weeks.

Your world was turned on its head, yet you met this new world with creativity, care, courage and always, hope.

These past weeks have been a true profile in TEAMwork.

  • From the teachers who have created and innovated to reach students in ways never before imaginable.
  • From the loving hands that have prepared thousands of meals to nourish the bodies and brains of our students, to the cheerful drivers who kept the engines fired up and the wheels rolling.
  • From the direction and innovation of our principals and Central Office team to forge a courageous path into this new and unknown frontier. To the 24/7 leadership of our Superintendent, Doug Robinson.

And to the community, working hand-in-hand with us to help provide closure through celebration for the Class of 2020.

We’ve all heard so many positives about the work of each team member, especially now, for both our students and their families. Not only the school work, but the even more powerful work of building and maintaining the relationships so vital to growth and success – in school and in life.

We are truly blessed beyond belief to have such an outstanding team of leaders, teachers, aides, secretaries, nurses, drivers, cooks, custodians, and staff in every role throughout Grayson County Schools.

From each of us, thank you for all you do every single day. We see it, we hear it, we feel it. Know that the work you do today has meaning, both now and down the road in the lives of all you touch.

You ARE Grayson County Schools, and #WeAreGCconnected.
