Grayson County Circuit Court Clerk Stacie Blain has offered an update for teens waiting to take their driving permit test.
“I know we have a lot of 16-year-olds anxiously awaiting to take their permit test,” Blain said. “We expect further information from the Transportation Cabinet by next week, but wanted to give a reminder about the documents you will need when you are able to test.”
Blain said to remember one needs a certified birth certificate, social security card, letter from the school (contact the Board of Education), and “a parent or guardian must sign.”
She said if the student has a state issued ID card, they won’t have to provide a birth certificate or social security card.
“The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and Kentucky State Police have not announced a date for Driver’s Licenses or testing,” Blain said, “but we expect an announcement by early next week.”
