A nine-year-old Lee County boy has been killed in an accidental shooting.
Kentucky State Police said Jeremiah Fox, of Beattyville, was accidentally shot while target practicing with friends and family Monday evening just before 6:00.
He was flown to University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at about 7:00 Monday night.
State police said its initial investigation showed that the gun malfunctioned and fired on accident, with a bullet striking Fox in the chest.
Kentucky State Police and the Fayette County Coroner’s Office are investigating the incident.
