Three new COVID-19 cases in Grayson Co. Three more detention center inmates have recovered.

The Grayson County Health Department reports three new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) were confirmed in the county since Monday afternoon.

The county’s COVID-19 victim count is now at 139. Only four new case of the virus have been announced over the last 12 days.

No details surrounding the newest confirmed COVID-19 patients were released by the health department.

No new deaths were reported, leaving the county’s coronavirus death toll at 10 victims. Nine of the victims are connected to either Grayson Nursing & Rehabilitation (8) or Spring View Nursing & Rehabilitation (1). One victim was a 66-year-old county resident.

Of the county’s confirmed COVID-19 cases, at least 45 are residents of Grayson Nursing & Rehabilitation while 17 are staff members. Spring View Nursing & Rehabilitation has had at least 12 residents test positive along with at least three employees.

Five cases have arisen from Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center.

Grayson County Jailer Jason Woosley updated the detention center’s COVID-19 numbers Wednesday afternoon, as he reports 25 people connected to the facility have tested positive for the virus; 23 inmates and two deputies. Woosley added that one of the infected inmates is currently receiving treatment in a hospital. Twelve inmates have recovered, an increase of three since Monday, as have both stricken deputies.

A total of 49 tests have been administered at the detention center (30 inmates, 19 deputies), with 24 of those tests returned negative. The facility currently has zero COVID-19 tests pending.
