90 new COVID-19 cases in Kentucky. No new deaths.

At his daily briefing on Monday, broadcast from the Old State Capitol, Gov. Andy Beshear said 90 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) were confirmed in Kentucky over the previous 24 hours. Additionally, officials added three new cases to Sunday’s total, raising the number of newly reported cases on Sunday from 117 to 120.

The new cases increase the state’s total to 13,839 COVID-19 cases.

No new COVID-19-related deaths were announced, leaving Kentucky’s death toll at 526 (3.8 percent fatality rate) victims.

“For somebody who has read the names, genders and ages of those we have lost, to have no reportable deaths today is special,” the governor said. “We are very grateful and blessed that today there is a reprieve from this deadly virus.”

Officials said 2,532 (18.2 percent) people have been hospitalize since the onset of the pandemic, with 349 patients currently in a hospital. To date, 987 (7.1 percent) victims have undergone treatment in ICU, with 67 people currently in intensive care.

At least 3,534 (25.5 percent) Kentuckians have recovered from the virus, and 352,215 (8.0 percent of the population) COVID-19 tests have been administered in the state.
